Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, has revealed its collaboration with the Chennai Super Kings. Although the company did not disclose the specific value of the agreement, it anticipates a long-term partnership.
The brand remarked that it would have visibility in the hospitality suite and the name of the carrier will be displayed in the front and back of the CSK Jersey.
The partnership was announced at the Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai in the presence of CSK players sporting their new jersey with the brand’s logo.
Arik De, chief revenue and commercial officer of Etihad, remarked, “This partnership is also about making sure that we only create a relationship that not only welcomes people but also helps deepen the market share.”
He added that they had chosen the five time champion team as the brand too had won the World Best Airline award for five times.
CSK Chief Executive Officer Kasi Viswanathan, in a statement, said, "This collaboration goes beyond the boundaries of a traditional sponsorship. It's about creating an extraordinary experience for our fans and setting new standards in sports partnerships."
“The two things that are pan-Indian are cricket and Bollywood,” said De. This collaboration comes on the heels of the brand announcing Katrina Kaif as their brand ambassador earlier.
Recently, the airline launched two routes to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. Besides, it increased the frequency of its Mumbai and Delhi flights to four from two.
