L Catterton to establish India-focused JV with former HUL chief Sanjiv Mehta

Delhi: L Catterton, a global consumer-focused investment firm, has established an India-focused joint venture partnership with former Hindustan Unilever (HUL) chief, Sanjiv Mehta. Effective April 4, 2024, Mehta will assume the role of Executive Chairman for the India venture.

In addition to his role in the India venture, Mehta will also be involved with L Catterton’s Asia platform and other global fund platforms. With a tenure of 32 years at Unilever, Mehta retired as the chief executive officer and managing director of HUL.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Mehta serves as a non-executive independent director at Danone, Air India Limited, and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. He also holds the position of President Commissioner of Unilever Indonesia PT and is a member of the South Asia advisory board of Harvard Business School.
