Will challenge MIB order on Indian army's 'torture' article: Caravan magazine

Caravan magazine said that it will contest the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's order to remove the article titled 'Screams from the Army Post' within 24 hours.

The notice was issued under Article 69A of the IT Act.

The government of India is granted authority under Section 69A of the IT Act to restrict public access to information if it is deemed to threaten India's sovereignty, integrity, defence, state security, diplomatic relations, public order, or other crucial aspects.

In a post on X, The Delhi Press-owned magazine didn’t share the content of the order. It wrote that the content of the order is confidential.

Published on February 1 and written by Jantinder Tur, the story is about the Indian army’s “torture and murder of civilians” in Jammu.
