On Saturday, the sixth day of the sixth annual e-auction of DD Freedhish slots, two news channels – Good News Today and TV9 Bharatvarsh – picked up a slot each.
The e-auction is currently in progress at the time of publishing of this report.
TV Today’s Good News Today bought a slot for Rs 16.35 crore in Bucket A, reserved for movie channels with a reserved price of Rs 13 crore.
TV9 Bharatvarsh got a slot for Rs 16.85 crore in Bucket A, reserved for music channels with a reserve price of Rs 13 crore in the fourth round.
Sources told BestMediaInfo.com that there were four movie channels skipping this year’s e-auction in the third round, which was the second round for Bucket A.
On Friday, four top GECs skipped the second round of e-auction for Bucket A+.
Going by last year’s total number of slots sold in the annual e-auctions, there are 12 slots left as of now with 5 players in Bucket B and 3 players in Bucket C.
Bucket C would be the fifth round of e-auctions with a base price of Rs 8 crore and the three news channels left to bid in this Bucket are expecting a fair deal.
