Big four GECs to abstain from DD Freedish e-auctions?

Top four GECs - Star, Sony, Viacom18 and Zee will not be participating in the on-going e-auction of slots on DD Freedish.

Sources close to the development confirmed the news to BestMediaInfo.com.

Sources said that the four GEC networks’ Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Colors Rishtey, and Sony Pal will abstain from the MPEG-2 e-auctions this year.

Having said that, sources told BestMediaInfo.com that Shemaroo Umang secured a slot for Rs 17.80 crore in Bucket A+.

News24 bought a slot for Rs 17.85 crore in the Bucket A+.

As the big is processing, the prices are following heavily. It appears that there are very few takers in Bucket A+.

The other GEC channels that picked slots in Bucket A+ are Sun TV and Dhamaal.

The reserve price for General Entertainment Channels (GEC) in Hindi/ Urdu language in second round for Bucket A+ is Rs 16 crore.
