Chinese officials raid GroupM Shanghai office, detain executives: Reports

Shanghai police apprehended one current and two former GroupM employees on suspicion of accepting bribes, according to the news reports.

One source suggested it was linked to the mismanagement of rebates, stated the news reports.

Another GroupM employee, Patrick Xu, the CEO of GroupM China and the country managing director for WPP China, was questioned by the police but not held in custody, as reported by the individual to a news platform.

Mentioning sources, the news reports stated that the police visited the WPP campus in Shanghai on Friday.

WPP has not released a statement on the matter yet.
