NSDC

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will call a pitch for its mandate in December, sources from the industry told BestMediaInfo. The incumbent agency that takes care of its mandate is Ogilvy & Mather.

On August 8, 2016, the body had rolled out a tender of Expression of Interest (EOI) for engagement with communication agencies but it did not move further. It now intends to call a fresh pitch in December.

The earlier tender mentioned that NSDC intended to create and launch a campaign to promote Skill India, which should become an overarching umbrella campaign for the country, under which other brands could be promoted. The objective of the campaign is to promote skill development and encourage the youth to come forward and join various skill development initiatives across the country.

NSDC is open to work with one and two agencies on its roster. The agency/agencies selected will have to manage different verticals -- advertising, public relations and digital/social media across different programmes/schemes and within the same vertical.

The creative agency would be engaged for a year. There is a provision for extension on a yearly basis after reviewing the scope of work and fee.

The mandate involves creating creative taglines, logos and strategic platforms for strengthening the positioning of Skill India and other brands such as NSDC, PMKVY, Udaan and WorldSkills etc.

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is a public?private partnership body which aims to promote skill development by catalysing the creation of large scale sustainable businesses by involving the private sector in the vocational training space.

NSDC aims to create capacity in terms of large and quality vocational training institutions; fund entities interested to operate in the skill development business and create an enabling environment for stakeholders in the ecosystem.

Its mandate is also to enable support systems such as quality assurance, information systems and train the trainer academies either directly or through partnerships. NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to entities and individuals for skill training. NSDC also develops appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives.

Towards this objective, NSDC works closely with stakeholders across government and industry to promote several initiatives such as Skill India, PMKVY, Udaan and WorldSkills among others.
