red-fmRed FM bagged the maximum number of awards amongst its Indian counterparts at the New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards 2015. Red FM took home two Bronze awards for its shows 'Morning No. 1' (Bangalore) for Best Info/ News Talk Show and 'Ek Kahani Aisi Bhi' (Kolkata) under Best Innovation category. In addition, 'Ek Kahani Aisi Bhi' (Kolkata) also got the Finalist Certificate in Best Narration. The awards were given away at Manhattan Penthouse in New York City on Monday, June 22.

NYF's International Radio Program Awards has been honouring radio programming and promotions in all lengths and formats from radio stations, networks and independent producers from around the globe.

Commenting on the wins, Nisha Narayanan, COO, Red FM, said, “It is one of the biggest honours for us to receive the prestigious New York Festival's International Radio Program Awards. As the industry is getting ready for Phase III, it is our endeavour to experiment with newer formats of programming to connect with our listeners in more number of ways. I feel proud that our effort has been recognised. We hope to continue and provide more such innovative and entertaining shows for our listeners.”

'Morning No. 1' with RJ Disha wakes Bangalore to infotainment with tasty tid-bits every morning. 'Ek Kahani Aisi Bhi' features stories around horror and supernatural phenomenon of the haunted places collected from every nook and corner of the country. Every episode features a new story and RJ Praveen takes the listeners through the tales in his own engaging style.

My FM took home a Bronze in the Community Service category for its show, 'Ek Diya Vinod Ke Naam'.

Another Bronze winner from India was Radio Mantra, which bagged the award for its initiative 'Aasha' in the Best Event category.

Meanwhile, the Grand Jury honoured RTÉ Ireland with the title of Broadcaster of Year and TBI Media UK with Production Company of the Year. In addition, three companies earned the coveted Grand Award – New York Philharmonic USA, TBI Media UK, and WNYC-Radiolab USA.

RTÉ Radio Ireland earned Broadcaster of the Year Award for the third time. The network also earned six Gold trophies, nine Silver (plus a UNDPI Silver trophy), four Bronze, and nine Finalist Certificates.

Besides the title of Production Company of the Year, TBI Media UK earned a total of seven Gold trophies, two Silver trophies and a Finalist Certificate.

History entries were front and center with award-winning programming featuring people and events that shaped our world. Gold trophy winners included: 'The Kalb Report: Writing History - Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein and Journalism's Finest Hour' National Press Club Journalism Institute USA; 'The Irish woman who shot Mussolini' and 'Clouds in Harry's Coffee' RTÉ Radio; 'The Map That Made Manhattan' Brook Lapping Productions United Kingdom; 'All Those Years Ago' Accessible Media Inc. Canada; and 'From Acrobats to Bankers: The History of Japanese Australians' The Australian Broadcasting Corporation/ Masako Fukui.

Breaking News and Ongoing News coverage was in the spotlight with coverage of events unfolding around the globe earning trophies for their excellence. Gold trophy winners included: 'Coverage On The United States And Cuba Announcing the Re-establishment of Diplomatic Relations' W Radio Colombia; 'Direct Provision?' RTÉ Radio Dublin; 'Birmingham Pub Bombings - Forty Years On' BBC UK; and 'Human Trafficking: The Merchants Of Innocence' Radio Rivadavia Argentina.

The 2015 Grand Jury awarded three Grand Awards, 53 Gold trophies, 62 Silver, 58 Bronze, and 117 Finalist Certificates submitted from 32 countries. All entries were judged online by the NYF Radio Awards Grand Jury of radio experts from stations and companies around the globe.
