Babita Baruah, Senior Vice-President and Head of JWT's PO1 (Power of One) that works exclusively on the 15 PepsiCo brands that the agency handles, is moving on. According to informed sources, in a huge career jump, Baruah will soon take over as Country Head of WPP's GTB Ford which exclusively handles the Ford business.

Despite efforts to reach her, Baruah could not be contacted at the time of filing this report.

In May last year, WPP rebranded its Ford-dedicated agency, Team Detroit, as as Global Team Blue (GTB) to better reflect the global evolution of its marketing resources. GTB is the new identity for Team Detroit, Blue Hive and Retail First which were working on behalf of Ford for over nine years.

Globally, GTB is headed by Mumbai-born and educated Satish Korde.

As a combined entity, Global Team Blue has an expanded global reach with 49 offices, India being one of them.

A 20-year JWT veteran, Baruah started her career as a Management Trainee at JWT's Kolkata office (then known as HTA). She is currently based in JWT's Delhi office. She has worked at the agency's Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi offices.

Hailing from Assam, Baruah is an Economics graduate from Cotton College, Guwahati, and holds a first-class MBA degree in Marketing from Guwahati University. She is one of the 12 Indian women recipients of the British Chevening Scholarships in 2004. She is also the first woman to represent the industry at Harvard Business School as a speaker on marketing and trends in India in February 2016.
