Microsoft-Future-Decoded

Microsoft is all geared up to decode the way brands use technology. At a recently concluded event, the company showcased various use cases on how it is empowering brands with various business solutions so as to transform them to a digitally competitive environment. From manufacturing companies to organisations in various businesses, the shift towards using technology is rapidly seen -- be it from tracking movements in a manufacturing setup, to using it at organisations for various HR functions and monitoring employees.

Rajiv Sodhi, Country Head, Cloud and Server Business Group, Microsoft and his team took us through an interactive exhibit at a Microsoft's 'Future Decoded.' In a walk-through, the first showcase was of a connected car platform and how the car performed various work and home-related functions with simple voice command. The platform helps the user in tracking all of its activity at work and home. The user could obviously feed work with personal reminders on the platform. The connected car platform is smart enough to read email or text messages and also respond to such messages and mails via voice command. The connected car platform is a future technology and is not practised yet.

Among some of the technologies which are practised, the exhibit included a fictitious yogurt factory so as to show various functions of how a brand uses Microsoft's technology in tracking various activities at its manufacturing setup. Not only that, the technology also helps the yogurt brand in tracking its vehicles when in transit towards a warehouse or a retail store.

The use of the 'future technology' doesn't end here. Another made-up company at the exhibit showcased how they are using future technology in various HR functions. From sorting resumes to helping the company read emotions of prospective candidates via a video interview and taking them through various inductions, the company could do it all. It even gives them banking facilities at work.

The technology is important in engaging consumers. Mixed reality, magic mirrors and artificial intelligence can help transform various sectors -- especially retail in a big way. With the help of artificial intelligence, consumers can virtually browse through various designs and see how interiors look at their new apartment. Magic mirrors can help the consumer virtually try clothes using gestures while they are standing in front of a mirror. Marketers are increasing exploring options on how they can make most of such technology. Currently Jabong.com is experimenting with magic mirrors at some offline stores where one can see all of the ecommerce giant's collection.

As a technology company, security is of utmost importance and Microsoft makes sure that it takes care of all malwares that can affect its systems. Microsoft is also working closely with its partners as it continues to decode the future of technology for them.
