As the big fat Indian wedding becomes an area of focus for luxury hotel chains, Marriott India takes a refreshing route on clichéd wedding promotions. OgilvyOne Worldwide Mumbai creates a film that highlights the beauty of its properties against a beautifully crafted story that explores the emotional bond between a bride and her father.

The film begins with a bride sitting in a car with her father. Her father hands her a gift. As she opens it, she finds letters in it. Her background voice starts narrating the letters. She was first reminded about her first stage performance, about how she was a little bird who gathered strength and jumped out of her nest. The bride then goes on to read letters she'd written to her father since her childhood and is surprised that her father had all those memories.

The father then hands more letters to his daughter. She reads with the father's narration in the background. He recalls how he held her as a baby and now is handing over the responsibility to her man (husband). He tells her, behind your man, there is an older one looking for you. The film ends with a message 'You don't just get Marriott. You live every moment with us.'

The film shows how Shaadi by Marriott eases the wedding experience. With branded video content being churned out faster than one can blink, the film is a timely reminder that few things are as moving as raw human emotions.

Khushnooma Kapadia, Director, Marketing and Communications, Marriott International, said, “The Marriott brand has been built on a philosophy of utmost thought and care towards our customers. And nowhere is this attitude more evident than when we host weddings. This film isn't merely about showcasing our properties and services. It is about helping customers realise the occasion means as much to us, as it does to them.”

Burzin Mehta, Group Creative Director, OgilvyOne, said, “Very few occasions in life are as emotionally charged as weddings. And that's what drove the creative thinking behind this piece of work. The film uses the magnificence of the Marriott as a backdrop to capture the special relationship between a bride and her father. And in doing so, brings alive the values of the brand in a subtle but memorable way.”
