Advertising industry veteran KV Sridhar aka Pops has left SapientNitro as the agency's first Indian Chief Creative Officer, to start something of his own. His last working day at the agency was on October 14. He plans to launch his own differentiated setup going forward.

Without disclosing everything about his upcoming agency, Sridhar told BestMediaInfo that his agency would be nothing like any of the agencies at present. He said, “My new setup would be all about brands, creative, content and technology. It will be all about everything from strategic to creative to technology. It will be a module so different from anything else and disrupt the way it will operate in the country.”

Sridhar said, “I have been planning this for a couple of months now. I always wanted to do something and thought that this is the right time. I have learnt so much from SapientNitro. Working at a company that focuses on creativity and technology is sort of a positive motivation.”

On his replacement, Pops said that it might not happen immediately.

Joining the list of admen like R Balki, Satbir Singh, Abhijit Avasthi, Prathap Suthan, V Sunil and many more, the industry's 'Pops' surprised the industry with his move. Sridhar added, “My friends in the industry are encouraging me to start something of my own.”

Sridhar joined SapientNitro in 2014 and since then he has worked on accounts like British Airways, Taj Hotels, DBS Bank, etc. Before SapientNitro, he worked with Leo Burnett for almost 17 years as the Chief Creative Officer for the Indian and the sub-continent region.
