Every monsoon Delhi NCR records high number of cases of Dengue & Chikungunya. Recognizing the need for awareness for prevention on the diseases, Navbharat Times Delhi NCR conducted a 360 degree Dengue awareness campaign from July onwards that concluded on September 18 being observed as Mosquito-Free day. NBT printed ads, editorial, digital and conducted a neighborhood & school interaction program.

NBT also identified more than 12000 'Super fighters' from each locality to be the touch point on all information on mosquito-borne illnesses. NBT associated with Indian Medical Association (IMA) & MCD, NDMC & other Municipal Bodies across NCR cities to maximize reach. A Virtual Blood Donors database of 8000 members was set up that could be reached out in case of blood requirement and offered discounted diagnostic tests to readers under the campaign.

The campaign ended with a print innovation on September 18 when readers of NBT in Delhi were taken by surprise when they found their daily newspaper as 'Mosquito Repellent Newspaper'. The paper carried a Citronella Fragrance which is a fragrant natural oil used as an insect repellent in mosquito creams and bands.
