LG Electronics, the consumer electronics major, aims to spread an important message through its new CSR campaign '#MuteTheGrowl'. The campaign pledges to reduce food wastage and create awareness among the people.
The film, conceptualised and executed by the LG digital team, traces the journey of a grain from the fields to people's plates. The film shows haunting visuals of how food is wasted every day and tells the audience how when one wastes food, they also waste energy, resources, water and the efforts of someone.
LG has created a micro site www.mutethegrowl.com on which people can pledge not to waste food and contribute towards a noble cause. For every pledge, LG will donate one meal to an underprivileged child.
Kim-Ki-Wan, MD, LG India, said, “We are happy to take forward our new CSR campaign, 'Mute the Growl', which aims at using online as a medium to spread awareness about hunger that plagues people across the globe. It is unfortunate that a large quantity of food ends up in the landfill and bins. Though much has been said about avoiding food wastage but to become a responsible society, such behaviour must actually change. We hope that through this pan-India campaign, we would be able to minimise food wastage and create a world with a better life. Do visit micro site www.mutethegrowl.com and let's pledge to reduce food wastage. Join the conversation at #MuteTheGrowl.”
