The latest format of the Broadcast Audience Research Council, India (BARC) seems to be giving a fuller picture of total viewership in urban and rural markets. In Week 24 (June 11 to June 17) of 2016, according to viewership data released for the combined markets, Colors led the Hindi GECs in U+R markets with 665,417 Impressions while Star Plus followed with 641,404 Impressions.

Zee TV climbed to the third spot with 529,237 Impressions. Star Utsav is at No. 4 with 520,494 Impressions. At No. 5 is Zee Anmol with 457,988 Impressions.

Sony Pal is at No. 6 with 445750 Impressions, followed by Life OK with 417,981 Impressions. Sony SAB is at No. 8 with 367,376 Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television is at No. 9 in the U+R markets with 365,704 Impressions. Rishtey is at No. 10 with 345,618 Impressions.

After a successful run for Naagin, Colors' 'Kavach' has managed to grab eyeballs to become the leader in top five programmes in U+R with 10,958 Impressions. Star Plus' Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has a combined viewership of 10,431 Impressions. Zee Anmol's Jodha Akbar followed with 9,333 Impressions. Star Plus' Saath Nibhaana Saathiya stood at No. 4 with 9,150 combined Impressions. At No. 5 was Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya with 9,122 Impressions.

Top Channels in Urban Markets

Colors took the lead this week with 447,336 Impressions (last week 463,630 Impressions).

Star Plus is at No. 2 with 438,480 Impressions, a decline from last week's 477,077 Impressions.

Zee TV retained its third spot with 295,443 Impressions, a decline from 305,495 Impressions last week.

Life OK stood at No. 4 with 269,294 Impressions, a decrease from last week's 282,796 Impressions.

Sony SAB is at No. 5 with 259,711 Impressions compared to 274,619 Impressions last week.

Sony Entertainment Television continued to be at No. 6 with 254,529 Impressions against last week's 242455 Impressions.

Star Utsav rose to No. 7 with 116,736 Impressions, an increase from 101,723 Impressions last week.

&TV stood at No. 8 with 114,365 Impressions (last week 120,085 Impressions)

Sony Pal slipped to No. 9 with 108,769 Impressions, a decline from 121,853 Impressions last week.

Zee Anmol is at No. 10 with 102,389 Impressions, a rise from 92,324 Impressions last week.

Top Programmes in Urban Market

As per select data {HSM (Urban): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, the opening weekend for Colors' Kavach garnered 7,114 Impressions.

Star Plus' Ye Hai Mohabbatein is at No. 2 with 7,021 Impressions (last week 8,299 Impressions).

For a change, Sony Entertainment Television's The Kapil Sharma Show is at No. 3 with 6,654 Impressions.

Star Plus' Saath Nibhaana Saathiya slipped to No. 4 with 5,980 Impressions (last week 5,800 Impressions)

Sony SAB's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah is at No. 5 with 5,379 Impressions.

Top Channels in Rural Markets

Star Utsav continues to lead with 403,758 Impressions, down from last week's 410,575 Impressions.

Zee Anmol is at No. 2 with 355,599 Impressions, a rise from 351,200 Impressions last week.

Sony Pal slipped to No. 3 with 336,981 Impressions (last week 398,647 Impressions).

Rishtey stood at No. 4 with 262,267 Impressions, a fall from last week's 277,373 Impressions.

Zee TV is at No. 5 with 233,794 Impressions, a rise from 210,083 Impressions last week.

Colors is to No. 6 with 217,181 Impressions (last week 220,684 Impressions).

Star Plus slipped to No. 7 with 202,924 Impressions (last week 225,324 Impressions).

Life OK is at No. 8 with 148,687 Impressions, compared to 140,197.

Big Magic is at No. 9 with 148,280 Impressions, compared to 159,400 Impressions last week.

Sony Entertainment Television stood last with 111,175 Impressions.

As per BARC India {HSM (Rural): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, witnessing an increase in viewership, Zee Anmol's Jodha Akbar continued to rule the top slot with 7,047 Impressions, a rise from last week's 6,935 Impressions.

Zee Anmol's Bandini is at No. 2 with 5,308 Impressions (last week 4,805 Impressions).

Star Utsav's Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is at No. 3 with 4,244 Impressions (last week 4,503 Impressions).

Colors' Kavach stood at No. 4 with 3,844 Impressions.

Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 5 with 3,783 Impressions.
