Ishq-Unplugged

Channel V launches a new music reality show, targeted at the youth, titled 'Ishq Unplugged'. The show is a love story between two contestants of a singing reality show. The romance between two completely opposite characters plays out in the backdrop of the reality show, which both want to win. 'Ishq Unplugged' premieres on March 7. The reality show will be on air at 7.30 PM on Channel V, Monday to Friday.

The main leads of the show are played by Mohit Gaur and Shruti Prakash, who play the roles of Mandy and Antara respectively. Mandy's character hails from a middle class family in Delhi. Even though he is an exceptional singer, Mandy faces opposition from his family in fulfilling his life-long dream of becoming a famous singer in the entertainment world. Mandy deserves success and stops at nothing to achieve his goal.

Antara is the daughter of a very famous singer and is blessed with a beautiful voice. Antara's mother wants her daughter to follow in her footsteps rather than create an identity of her own. The competition is the stage, which will launch Antara's career. Both Mandy and Antara come from very different backgrounds and are opposites, but fate brings them together. Are they the wrong pair or will they become a musical sensation?

Speaking of the new music based show, a Star India spokesperson said, “Like dance, music and reality shows are a big pull for the youth; this is the first time we have a fiction show which is a potent combination of music and romance in the backdrop of a reality show. With a fair share of singing and performances along with drama, this unique offering is going to be something fresh for the youth to savour and enjoy”

Channel V plans an extensive marketing strategy to support the show with high decibel promotions across multiple platforms. Apart from 'Ishq Unplugged', Channel V's dance fiction show 'D4 Get Up And Dance' (at 7 PM, Monday to Friday), 'Sadda Haq – Season 2' (at 6.30 PM, Monday to Saturday), teen crime show 'Gumrah: End of Innocence' (at 7 PM on Sunday) and action-packed romantic drama showcasing two life-times - 'Mastaangi' (6 PM, Monday to Saturday), continue to be on air. All the new and current shows are available anytime on Hotstar.
