TheNewsMinute.com (TNM), a digital platform that brings together the best of original news and feature content, with a special focus on the five southern states, has successfully raised an angel round from Raghav Bahl and Ritu Kapur-led Quintillion Media (publishers of TheQuint.com, a diversified multimedia digital content platform).

The News Minute is run by award-winning journalist and author Chitra Subramaniam, former Times Now (South) Bureau Chief Dhanya Rajendran and Vignesh Vellore.  Started in 2014, The News Minute is a news and current affairs platform that has shown stellar growth in a short period of time. This Bengaluru-based site hosts diverse content, ranging from news reportage and breaking news to opinions and blogs.

Commenting on the partnership, Vignesh Vellore, Co-Founder of TheNewsMinute.com, said, “The investment from Quintillion Media will enable us to reach our true potential. We will focus on expanding our team, enhancing our technology, and marketing our content better to reach out to a wider audience. This will also help us in implementing a long-term business strategy''.

Quintillion Media recently tied up with DA Vinci, Germany, and launched a TV and digital platform for kids -- Da Vinci Quint -- in India.  In addition, Quintillion Media has also made angel investments in Sheroes, a women?centered community and job portal, and Youth Ki Awaaz, an online news and views portal.

Ritu Kapur, Co-Founder, The Quint, will join as a director on the board of Spunklane Media Private Limited, the parent company of TheNewsMinute.com
