Multi Screen Media (MSM) is in the process of refurbishing its flagship Hindi GEC Sony TV. The network is also looking to increase its offering from 18 to 27 channels.

As part of its expansion plans, MSM will be launching HD feeds of its entertainment channels Sony Max and SAB TV.

A source close to the development informed, “Sony Max and SAB TV will soon have HD feeds. This could happen in the next two months. The pricing is still to be worked out, but the revenue model for both the HD channels will be ad-based. This apart, the MSM network is also looking to launch two music channels in the next 6-8 months.”

The source further said, “Early this year, MSM had announced its partnership with BBC Worldwide to launch BBC Earth. There is a strong possibility that the next 12-18 months could see MSM extend its bouquet of channels from 18 to 25-27 channels.”

Meanwhile, according to industry sources, Danish Khan is set to join the network as Business Head from September 15.

Neeraj Vyas, Senior EVP & Business Head, Sony Max and Anooj Kapoor, Business Head, SAB TV, couldn't be contacted for comments at the time of filing this report.
