Newly-launched food and lifestyle channel Living Foodz from Essel Vision (promoted by Subhash Chandra) has garnered impressive ratings in its opening week, topping the charts in the food and lifestyle space.

It may be noted here that BARC ratings for Living Foodz, launched under the Living Entertainment brand, are available for Week 37 (September 12-18). In Week 36, the ratings were for Zee Khana Khazana, the food channel of Zee Entertainment Enterprises that paved the way for Living Foodz from September 11 at 7.30 pm.

According to select data (All India : NCCS AB : Individuals : BARC India base - C&S 1Lac+) for the food and lifestyle genre, Living Foodz bagged a viewership of 7,532 (ratings in sum of 000s) to emerge as the top rated channel in the genre.

However, in Week 36, when the channel was still operational, Zee Khana Khazana had garnered a viewership of 8,038 (ratings in sum of 000s). So, it's only fair to say that Living Foodz has benefited from the Zee Khana Khazana legacy.

Meanwhile, Fox Life (v) was placed second in Week 37 with a viewership of 2,223 (ratings in sum of 000s).

FoodFood dropped a few TVTs in Week 37, but still rose to the third spot with a viewership of 1,443 (ratings in 000s), compared to 1,505 (ratings in 000s) in the previous week.

Meanwhile, TLC saw a drop in its viewership from 2,026 (ratings in sum of 000s) in Week 36 to 1,332 (ratings in sum of 000s) in Week 37 as it slid to the fourth spot.

NDTV Good Times was placed fifth with a viewership of 1,288 (ratings in sum of 000s), while Travel XP HD stood at a distant sixth with a viewership of 464 (ratings in sum of 000s) in Week 37.

Commenting on the channel's performance, Amit Nair, Business Head, Living Foodz, said, “We are extremely thrilled about our performance. Being able to deliver according to audience expectations gives us a feeling of great pride. What excites us more is the fact that our ratings are more than that of our competitors in the lifestyle genre clubbed together. All the teams at LF have worked very hard and we will strive towards strengthening our position and making food fun for our audience.”

While the channel retained some of the shows and faces from Zee Khana Khazana, it also managed to bring on board popular hosts Rocky and Mayur for the show, 'Food Express'.
