Veteran journalist Sheela Bhatt, who recently quit as Editorial Director of Rediff.com, is joining The Indian Express from today as its National Editor (Politics).

With over three decades of experience in print, television and Internet journalism, Bhatt had earlier served as Senior Editor with the Gujarati edition of India Today and was closely associated with its launch. She also worked as Executive Editor, Star News, and is credited with founding, editing and publishing a Gujarati weekly, 'Abhiyaan'.

Speaking to BestMediaInfo.com, Unni Rajen Shankar, Editor, The Indian Express, confirmed the news.

This will be Bhatt's second innings with The Indian Express. She said, “Earlier, I had worked with The Indian Express as part of its Special Investigation Team. And now, I am joining as National Editor, looking after political news.”
