DD sets August 12 as date for 21st e-auction for Free Dish

The public broadcaster has set a reserve price of Rs 3.7 crore, while the participation fee is pegged at Rs 1.5 crore

DD-NationalDoordarshan will be holding the 21st e-auction for the remaining slots for its free direct-to-home (DTH) service, Free Dish, on August 12, 2015. The public broadcaster has set a reserve price of Rs 3.7 crore, while the participation fee is pegged at Rs 1.5 crore which needs to be deposited on or before August 12, along with Rs 10,000 as non-refundable processing fees.

The incremental amount will be Rs 1 million and every e-auction will be of 15-minute duration. An additional 5 minutes will be added if the bid is received before the closing time of each e-auction.

All interested parties are required to submit the uplinking and downlinking permission from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting along with the application.

As of August 1, 2015, DD Free Dish (DD Direct Plus) offers 156 channels of which 116 are TV channels and 40 are radio channels.

Prasar Bharati has hired Noida-based C1 India to conduct the e-auction.
