Ad captains celebrate wins at Kyoorius 2015 Advertising & Digital Awards

Piyush Pandey, Madhukar Kamath, Josy Paul, and Rana Barua speak to BestMediaInfo about their success. Ogilvy ruled with 15 Blue Elephants; DDB Mudra wins lone Black Elephant

The industry celebrated winners of the Kyoorius 2015 Advertising and Digital awards at a spectacular celebration held at DOME @NSCI, SVP Stadium in Mumbai on May 22. The Kyoorius Awards brought together over 1,200 professionals from the advertising, digital and marketing industries, as well as clients from all over India to celebrate the best in Indian creativity.

Ogilvy & Mather was the most awarded agency with 15 Blue Elephants, while DDB Mudra won the lone Black Elephant along with six Blue Elephants. Contract India was the third most awarded agency with five Blue Elephants, followed by Ideas@work with three Blue Elephant and BBDO India with one Blue Elephant.

A total of 1,419 entries (up almost 40 per cent from the previous year) were submitted across Advertising & Digital categories. Of the 163 In Book winners, 48 entries were awarded Blue Elephants, and one entry was awarded the rare Black Elephant.

Amid all the celebrations, BestMediaInfo caught up with the creative honchos of some of the winning agencies.

Piyush Pandey

Josy Paul

Josy Paul, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, BBDO, remarked, “I enjoyed the MELT experience. I attended some of the seminars on Day 1 and the awards night on Day 2. I thought the turnout and energy was fantastic. It was a great idea to have it at the Nehru Centre. Never realised the place had so many auditoriums and seminar rooms. This created an integrated well-knit feeling. It also helped that the location was close to our office.”

He further said, “The teams from our office who attended both the days were singing praises of the workshops. They are keen to cascade their learning to the rest of the office. Congratulations to the organisers for bringing together such a diverse set of speakers across so many different disciplines and fields of communication and technology. What's great is that these new influences are people, ideas and actions that we are not exposed to sitting in our offices. So, the interactions were most rewarding.”
