C Lalrosanga has been appointed as the interim Director General of Doordarshan. He previously held the charge of Additional Director General, AIR, and has rich and diverse experience in broadcasting, both in sound and visual.

An official statement issued said, “He has taken charge of the public broadcaster in challenging times, especially considering the proposed launch of the Kisan Channel and four channels for the North Eastern region.”

Lalrosanga joined the North Eastern service of All India Radio (NES) Shillong as Director after getting selected by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 1991. Before that, he was Assistant News Editor (ANE) at AIR, Aizawl.

He has also been a programmer.
