The Animation, Visual Effects and Gaming awards were held as part of the FICCI Frames 2015

BAF-Awards1The 12th edition of The Best Animated Frames (BAF) Awards was held on March 25, 2015 in Mumbai as part of the FICCI Frames 2015, where entries in various categories of Animation, Visual Effects and Gaming were awarded.

In the Animated Ad Film (International) category, Climb Media India's BSE Fishing won the BAF Award. Studio Eeksaurus Productions' Rotary Lifeline won the Indian category award in the same category.

Studio Eeksaurus Productions also took home the Animated Short Film – Professional (International) for Fisherwoman and TukTuk, while Figment Film's Sonali Pakhi won the Indian honour. Thought Cloud Studio's 'Rise of the valiant Indrajeet' bagged the Animated Promos (International) award, while Paperboat Design Studio, along with Nestle, won the Animated Promos (India) BAF for Superbabies.

UK's TellyJuice and Framestore made Freesat Sheldon won the VFX in a Commercial (International) award, while Perfect Picture and Prana Studios' work on Hyundai Santa-Fe bagged the Indian award in the same category.

In the Animated Short Film – Student (International) category, UK's The Shipping Forecast from The Arts University of Bournemouth took home the award, while DSK Supinfocom's Magarwasi bagged the equivalent honour for India in the same category. Bluepixels Animation Studios' Ande Pirki took home the Indian and International BAFs in the Animated TV Episode category. Toonz Animation's 'Pakdam Pakdai' movie won the BAF for Animated Film (Direct-to-DVD/ Home Video/ Telefilm). Turner International India was given a special jury award for its Roll No.21 – Ticket to Australia.

The Animated Feature Film went to Green Gold Animation for 'Mighty Raju Rio Calling'.

India Today Group's ITG-Morph was honoured for its series, 'So Sorry', in the Open Category for Animation. The team also won the critics award for the Best Show of the Year. The series have won at the prestigious award for the second year in a row.

Speaking on the award, Ashish Bagga, Group CEO, India Today Group, said, “This pioneering initiative from the India Today Group has created an ever growing following by redefining political satire on news television. I congratulate the team for the awards and the exceptional work done in the series.”

'Guardians of the Galaxy' won the International award for Framestore and Marvel Studios, whereas 'Roar: Tigers of Sunderbans' took home the Indian award. Anibrain Digital Studios VFX work for 'Roar' bagged the VFX Shot of the Year award, and Climb Media India's Innocence won in the Open Category of VFX.

Reliance Games' Ultimate Robot Fighting bagged two awards for Mobile and Tablet Game in International as well as India categories. Yellow Monkey Studios' Socioball won in the Social Game: Online/ Mobile category. i2Play Interactive's Spicetoons received a special mention in the Open Category of games.
