Airtel-GroupM-Milestone-Brandcomm

Airtel has decided to move its media mandate excluding outdoor to GroupM. The outdoor business will now be handled by Milestone Brandcom, the outdoor unit of Dentsu Aegis Media. The incumbent agency is Madison which has handled the account for around a decade.

Industry sources estimate the size of Airtel's media business at around Rs 400 crore, including a spend of Rs 50 crore on outdoor. Sources inform that Milestone Brandcom will be the AoR on Airtel for three years.

It is understood that GroupM will be setting up a separate 'Team Airtel' unit to manage the account. It will be a parallel unit within the group.

GroupM and Milestone Brandcom officials could not be reached for comments at the time of filing this report. Airtel had called for the media business pitch in November 2014.
