MSO registration deadline for Ph-3 extended

Applicants for MSO registration in Phase III areas can now apply up to February 6, 2015

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has extended the deadline for MSO registration for Phase III of digitisation to February 6, 2015. Cable TV digitisation in remaining urban areas not covered in Phase I & II is slated for completion by December 31, 2015.

According to the statement issued by MIB, “Security clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs, which takes about 3 to 4 months, is prerequisite for the issue of permanent registrations. Therefore, applications for MSO registrations for operation in Phase III areas were invited by December 21, 2014 so that sufficient time is available to MSOs to operationalize their digital set ups after the issue of MSO registration.”

“However, keeping in view the requests received in the ministry, applicants for MSO registration in Phase III areas can now apply up to February 6, 2015,” said the statement.
