Now, a tweet-powered radio station!

@SaavnRadio, launched by Twitter and Saavn, will let users tweet the song of their choice and hear it on Saavn in real time

Fans of Bollywood, Hindi and international music will now be able to tune in to their inner DJs at a radio frequency of 140 characters or less. Saavn and Twitter India have announced the launch of @SaavnRadio. The new station is now available for streaming on Saavn's internet radio product, Saavn Radio.

@SaavnRadio line-up will be curated by Saavn users through Twitter's real-time information network, and will refresh every few minutes.

To directly influence the station's programming, users can tweet @SaavnRadio to request a song from Saavn's robust catalogue of Indian and English music. The station will also update based on Saavn users' shared listening activity on Twitter. Explicit requests will be prioritised over shared songs in each refresh interval, and users will receive a @mention confirmation when their requests are played.

“Our listeners regularly tweet their songs and playlists, so this is our way of using Twitter activity to drive music programming on Saavn. Twitter is the global platform for live, public conversations, and music and entertainment are a big part of it. That music conversation now turns tweets into a radio station in real-time for Saavn users. Saavn Radio is free for all users and ad-free for Saavn Pro subscribers. It is available for streaming on Saavn Radio for Web, iOS and Android.
