Mohit Hira, CEO, Hungama Digital Services & Digital Head, JWT India, has called it a day after close to two years with JWT. Today is his last day at JWT. While confirming the news to BestMediaInfo.com, he said he is looking to launch a start-up in the digital domain, clarifying that “it won't be in advertising”.

Interestingly, Hira's resignation was a closely guarded secret at JWT as he had put in his papers four months ago. Colleagues came to know of his departure from a mail he sent out last evening.

Hira, who joined JWT in November 2012 as Senior Vice-President and Regional Business Director, took over as Head of Digital in April 2013 to oversee JWT Group's digital initiatives in addition to his role as the Business Lead on Airtel.

Hira was then elevated to CEO of HDS and JWT Digital to ensure seamless integration of the two to offer truly integrated digital solutions to all HDS and JWT clients.

Hira is an advertising creative director turned netvangelist, with a career spanning over two decades with rich and diverse experience across advertising, marketing, journalism and digital media. He was recently nominated to the Impact India Digital Power 100 List and has also been on the IBM-Paul Writer list of Top 50 CMOs earlier.

Hira joined JWT from NIIT, where he was President of the B2C global online learning business, www.training.com that he started. He was also the Chief Marketing Officer for their retail individual training businesses and the NIIT University.

Hira has also worked with The Times of India Group at very senior positions including as Director of Times Internet Ltd, where he was the brand custodian for the group's website, www.indiatimes.com, and was responsible for incubation, marketing and usability of its portals.
