Star Plus leads weekday programming chart with 5 shows followed by Zee TV with 4 and Colors with one show in Week 33 of TAM 2014

Zee TV registered the maximum growth in Week 33 of TAM 2014 riding on the improved ratings of its weekday shows. Colors and SAB TV also added a few viewers this week while Star Plus, Sony and Life OK registered declined in their gross viewership.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 33 of TAM 2014 (August 10 – August 16) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi GEC genre followed by Zee TV at No. 2, Colors at No. 3 and Life OK at No. 4. SAB TV overtook Sony to become No. 5 this week.

Star Plus continued to lead the pack with a gross viewership of 689 GTVMs, a drop of 23 GTVM from last week. The channel's relative share was at 28.76% (last week 712 GTVM).

Zee TV registered a growth of 38 TVM and recorded a gross viewership of 453 GTVM with 18.91% relative share (last week 415 GTVM).

Colors added more eyeballs this week and remained above the 400-mark. The channel rose further to 411 GTVM with a relative share of 17.15% (last week 403 GTVM).

Life OK retained its No. 4 position despite a marginal loss this week. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 302 GTVM and a relative share of 12.60% (last week 312 GTVM).

SAB TV displaced Sony from No. 5 position this week with a gross viewership of 278 GTVM. The channel had a relative share of 11.60% (last week 277 TVM).

Sony slipped to No. 6 position with a gross viewership of 263 GTVM and a relative share of 10.98% (last week 278 TVM).

Top shows

The week saw improvement in the viewership of most of the weekday shows on Zee TV, Star Plus and Colors. Star Plus continued to lead the weekday chart with 5 shows in the top 10 followed by Zee TV with 4 shows and Colors with one show.

Colors ruled the weekend with Comedy Nights with Kapil at the top of the chart followed by Jhalak Dikkhla Ja.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000's)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus continued to lead the weekday programming with an average viewership of 10.7 TVM (last week 10 TVM).

Star Plus' Saathiya acquired No. 2 position with an average viewership of 9.5 TVM (last week 7.2).

Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, slipped one position to No. 3 in its final week. The show garnered 8.5 TVM this week (last week 9.1 TVM).

Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV continued to be at No. 4 with an average viewership of 8 TVM this week (last week 7.6 TVM).

 

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV slipped to No. 5 position with an average viewership of 7.5 TVM (last week 7.3 TVM).

Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai was at No. 6. The show recorded an average viewership of 7.4 TVM (last week 7.3 TVM).

Qubool Hai on Zee TV climbed one position to No. 7 with an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 5.3).

 

Colors' Sasural Simar Ka strengthened its position with an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 5.7 TVM).

 

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus was at No. 9 with an average viewership of 5.9 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).

Jamai Raja on Zee TV entered the top 10 club in its second week of launch. The show had an average viewership of 5.5 TVM (last week 5.3 TVM).

 

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors continued to lead weekend programming. The show fetched an average viewership of 6.8 TVM (last week 8.6).

Colors' celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa fetched an average viewership of 4.8 TVM (last week 4.8).

Sony's crime series, CID, fetched 4.1 TVM against last week's 4.3 TVM.

 

Shapath on Life OK dropped to 2.2 TVM (last week 2.8).

 

Colors' 'The Anupam Kher Show', fetched 2.1 TVM (last week 1.9 TVM).

 

India's Best Cine Star Ki Khoj on Zee TV dropped to 1.8 TVM (last week 1.9).

Sony's Entertainment Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega fetched an average viewership of 1.7 TVM (last week 2.3).

Sony's second crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 1.7 TVM (last week 1.8).

Hatim on Life OK dropped to 1.6 TVM against last week's 1.8 TVM.
