Priti Nair, Co-founder, Curry-Nation, said, “It is a very proud moment for me. My mother is a Maharashtrian and I have always considered myself a Marathi first, so Loksatta has always been very close to me. On bagging this account, I feel like I will be working with a culture that is mine. Loksatta is a fantastic paper and our aim would be to increase the stupendous stature of the paper. We will work to strengthen the brand positioning of Loksatta by capturing the soul and the essence of Maharashtra.”

Launched in 1948, Loksatta is published by the Indian Express Group. It is known for its strong editorial content which acts as a benchmark in the industry. It shot to fame post its in-depth coverage of Mahatma Gandhi's assassination and other developments. It enjoyed the status of being the largest circulated Marathi daily for many years until the late 90s when it faced competition from newcomers. However, it soon made a comeback in the 2000s, when it underwent a major revamp and added new supplements and new local editions as a strategy to bounce back. Loksatta is currently published out of Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad and Delhi.
