'American Idol' goes on-air on Zee Café today

One of the biggest reality shows in the world, which has launched some of the most spectacular voices in the music industry, it will air everyday at 9 PM

American Idol, one of the biggest reality shows in the world, which has launched some of the most spectacular voices in the music industry, is back with its 13^th season. The show premieres on Zee Café from today, March 19, 2014, and will be telecast everyday at 9 PM.

The show is back with a dream team of judges that includes Grammy Award winning and platinum-selling recording artist, actress, movie and television producer and entrepreneur Jennifer Lopez; popular country musician and four-time Grammy Award winner Keith Urban; and Grammy and Emmy Award winning multi-platinum singer, musician, songwriter, composer and film/television and Broadway actor Harry Connick, Jr. Joining the judges as the in-house mentor is former judge Randy Jackson, while the show will continue to be hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

Randy Jackson, who had earlier announced his departure as a judge from the show, stated that he was thrilled to be back. “Surprise, surprise! I am so happy to be back as part of this amazing show that started it all,” he commented.

Travelling across America, the judges will select Idol hopefuls from Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Detroit, Omaha, Salt Lake City and San Francisco. In addition to receiving the adulation of fans that he/she will build along the way, the winner will also get a chance to release his/her album under Universal Music Group's Interscope Records label. Idol winners and finalists from earlier seasons have gone on to make a name for themselves in the industry, releasing numerous records post American Idol, notably, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, David Cook and Chris Daughtry.
