Life OK has ventured into the romance genre once again with their new show 'Tumhari Paakhi', which goes on air from November 11, 2013 in the 9.30 PM primetime slot. The channel expects the show will be their number one show in some months.

Based on Saratchandra Chattopadhyay's popular novel, 'Navvidhan', 'Tumhari Paakhi' revolves around a simple and good-natured tourist guide, Paakhi, who lives in Chittor. She was married to a boy when she was six years old. However, the boy has now grown up and lives in Shimla. Anshuman doesn't want to be married to Paakhi but doesn't know how to tell her this, so he decides to visit her and ask for a divorce. The story explores the way forward. Will destiny bring them closer or will they go their separate ways?

"We at Life OK believe in introducing and building characters that every individual can relate to. We believe in everyday heroes standing against the tide, battling situations on the basis of resilient values. With 'Tumhari Paakhi' we are innovating and venturing into a whole new genre of general entertainment through a book-inspired fiction. We are confident that Anshuman and Paakhi will become household names among audiences soon," said Ajit Thakur, General Manager, Life OK.

The show has been produced by Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions and will star Iqbal Khan and Shraddha Arya in the lead. Sachin Shroff will also play a pivotal role in the show which replaces 'The Bachelorette India' in two weeks.

"I read the novel some six-seven years ago. But when you remember this novel after that long of reading it, you know how special it is. When we met Life OK, and we knew we wanted a character based show, we couldn't choose anything better than this. Having said that, it is an age-old story but it is still very relevant in this day and age," said Shashi Mittal.
