Edelman India has appointed Ipshita Sen to lead its South India operations including offices in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. Sen will be responsible for developing and managing the Edelman business in South India and will also formalise and lead Edelman's employee engagement offering nationally. She will be based in Bangalore and will report to Rakesh Thukral, COO, Edelman India.

Sen has over 17 years of experience across the marketing spectrum including advertising, event management, corporate communications and public relations, with companies such as Perfect Relations, Gulf Finance House, Team Young & Rubicam, Leo Burnett and Rediffusion DY&R. She has worked in India as well as in the Middle East, the UK, and Southeast Asia.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work at Edelman, a firm that has clearly distinguished itself through its work both in India and globally. I am particularly keen about consolidating the South India operations and building and growing the business over time. I'm looking forward to a great experience,” Sen said.

Robert Holdheim, MD of Edelman India, commented, “I welcome Ipshita to the Edelman India family. Her background spanning advertising, event management, corporate communications and public relations along with her overseas experience support our firm's objectives and are in line with the integrated brand engagement communications model we practice.”

Sen was associated with a successful and widely awarded relaunch campaign for Ariel while working with Leo Burnett. She also strategised the launch for PertPlus (Rejoice) and Pepto-Bismol in Southeast Asia, including India. In her last assignment with Perfect Relations as Regional Head – Strategy and Direction, she built the Bangalore branch from scratch in less than two years. She was also part of the national strategy team responsible for leading CXO-level media training, crisis preparedness and internal communications projects.
