AXN is all set to premiere the highly anticipated, original series Hannibal on April 5, 2013 at 10 pm. The show is being launched in concurrence with US time with a delay of 12 hours in India.

A cinematic thriller from the imaginative mind of Byan Fuller (Heroes, Pushing Daisies) and the artful direction of David Slade (Twilight: Eclipse, 30 days of Night), Hannibal explores the early relationship of Thomas Harris' famous characters, renowned psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter and gifted FBI criminal profiler Will Graham.

Hannibal stars Hugh Dancy (The Big C, King Arthur, Black Hawk Down) as Will Graham, a brilliant, empathic FBI profiler who is able to mentally re-trace the twisted thoughts and methods of the agencies most-wanted serial killers. His boss and handler, Jack Crawford (Laurence H. Fishburne III, The Matrix, Contagion, CSI) recognized his need for psychiatric help after a particularly disturbing case. As a result, Will finds himself assigned to the care of the highly-respected psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen, Casino Royale, The Hunt, A Royal Affair). Unbeknownst to Will, there is a reason Dr. Lecter has particular insight into these horrible crimes and psychopaths who commit them. What follows is a masterful mind game set against the contrasting worlds of good and evil where lines blur, elegance breeds horror and nothing is what it seems.

Talking about the series, Mads Mikkelsen says, “Hannibal is an iconic character and Anthony Hopkins has done a fantastic job to perfection, which we are bit trying to copy. Having said that, we are starting  out in a different situation, which has not been captured till now.  So you might see some different kind of scenes with this character than you saw with Anthony Hopkins.”

Fuller's stylized, procedural drama is the latest AXN original series which is a treat for the viewers who love the genre of crime. Taking a look at cinematic presence of the cast, it os quite evident that the directors have taken this series to another level.
