Alok Agrawal calls it a day at Cheil as COO, SW Asia

He was with the agency for four years, reporting directly to the agency's Seoul headquarters

Alok Agrawal, Chief Operating Officer - SW Asia, Cheil Worldwide, has put in his papers, it is reliably learnt. He was with Cheil for about four years, having joined the agency in 2008. He was reporting directly to Cheil's Seoul headquarters.

When contacted by BestMediaInfo, Agrawal declined to make any comment.

Agrawal had moved to Cheil in 2008 from Bates 141 where he was Executive Vice-President heading North India. He handled brands such as General Motors, LML, Glaxo SmithKline, Sony, The Times of India, Usha, DLF Real Estate, Radico Khaitan Liqour, Nokia, Dabur, Emaar MGF, Business World, Unicef, Yamaha, Indiatimes.com, and Hitachi.

An IIT Kanpur (Aeronautical Engineering) and IIM Bangalore alumnus, Agrawal came to advertising in 1993 when he joined Trikaya Grey in Bangalore as Account Manager. He rose to become Account Director when he left Trikaya in 1997 to join Euro RSCG Delhi as Group Account Director.

In 1998 he moved to Grey Advertising, Delhi as VP & Head of Client Servicing. He handled brands such as Hyundai, Samsung, Glaxo Smithkline, General Motors, Dominos, BSNL, India Today Group, Hindustan Times, Aviva Life Insurance, Ranbaxy, Carrier Aircon and Haier. In 2003 he moved to Bates 141.
