Red FM 93.5 has initiated a talent hunt in Odisha. It is a first of its kind initiated by any radio station. ‘93.5 Seconds to Fame’ is the first multi-talent reality hunt competition with categories like singing, dancing, and comedy, X Factor for the 15-plus audience. The auditions were conducted in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Balasore and Cuttack. Participants were given a time limit of 93.5 seconds to showcase their talent.
Red FM has always believed in providing a platform where new talent can be showcased. It has done numerous campaigns in the past for the people of Odisha. The objective behind the talent hunt was to make a contribution in promoting talents across the state and give an opportunity to the deserving ones.
From amongst the thousands who made it to the auditions, the Top 60 were selected for the quarter-finals, which were held in Cuttack. Sixteen participants were selected for the semi-finals held at Science Park, Bhubaneswar, and finally the Top 10 and two wild card entries made it to the Grand Finale held on July 14, 2012 in Bhubaneswar.
The winner was Sudip Das (Singer) from Bhubaneswar, 1st runner up Aakash Das (Dancer) from Berhampur and Jyoti Botra (Singer) from Bhubaneswar who received a cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000, respectively, along with gold rings, silver coins, headphones, Sony PS2 and special prizes from Indian oil and Vodafone. A special attraction was an exclusive music contract to winner Sudip Das and Sandha Choris (5th position) from Sarthak Music and exclusive television contract to Subhrat (4th position) and Aakash Das (1st runner-up) from Sarthak Television.
