Star Jalsha launches adventure reality show 1000 Ghanta

The show demonstrates the high voltage drama to be set loose on television screens across Bengal.

STAR Jalsha has unveiled a new exciting adventure reality show '1000 Ghanta', a fascinating and action packed show being aired at 10pm daily from Monday to Saturday starting 18^th April, 2011.  The show gives a lifetime chance to 12 contestants to feel and get a real taste of challenges, thrill and adventure.

Twelve contestants from different walks of life have been chosen after extensive auditions. Six men and six women will live and battle it out on an island of the Andamans in a primeval existence without any urban and modern day facilities or amenities. They will need to perform and compete doing some basic yet challenging tasks on a daily basis to win basic needs and stay in the competition. Every 100^th hour one contestant will be eliminated. The harshness of life and the merit of the task shall decide the ultimate winner.

The 12 contestants range from upcoming actors, models, a choreographer, social worker, working professionals and even home-makers, all of whom radiated adaptability, adventurous spirit and got through the final screening after rigorous personality & physical endurance tests. The 12 contestants are–

• JITENNDRA SONI (Service Industry)
• MOUTUSI GUHA (Dancer/ Homemaker/ Actress)
• NIGEL AKKARA (Social Worker/ Night Guard business)
• SOHAM CHAKRABORTY (Dancer/ Choreographer)
• ARNOLD FUDGE (Gym Trainer)
• DEBANJAN BASU ROY CHOWDHURY (Marine Engineer)
• MALANCHI BASU (Student-BBA)
• KAMALIKA CHANDA (Actress/ Model)
• RIYA BASU THAKUR (Post graduate in Public Relations)

Kolkata's very own and beloved of all, Indraneil Sengupta with his quick wit, affability – his trademark buoyancy will be hosting the show. He will act as the leader of the contestants and constantly motivate and counsel them.
