publive-imageFollowing the footsteps of Publicis India, Taproot India also has announced that it will not participate in the Abby Awards this year. Four agencies under Publicis India - Publicis Ambience, Publicis Capital, Publicis Modem and Red Lion have already distanced themselves from the Goafest 2011.

Confirming the development with BestMediaInfo.com, Santosh Padhi a.k.a. Paddy, Chief Creative Officer and Co-founder, Taproot India, said, “What happened last year in judging was shocking for the ad world. Although there have been mandatory changes this year to make the judging process credible, we want to wait and see if all goes well.”

When asked about the level of boycott by Taproot, Paddy has his say, “We are very much awards friendly, not anti awards. We feel that awards are necessary for the encouragement of creative people. We wish Goafest come out clean this year so that we can participate next year with the same old enthusiasm.”

At Goafest 2011, Abby's will start with the Media Awards on 8th April, followed by the Creative Awards on 9th April. The creative and media Abby's will be managed by the Awards Governing Council (AGC) under the Chairmanship of Shashi Sinha.
